What’s Hot this Summer in NYC
Every summer each of us comes up with a bucket list of awesome things to do, but by the time the leaves start falling most of us have hardly left the house. Below are ten things that you need to do this Summer in and around the NY metro area. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss out on some of these incredible places and events.
The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Located at 990 Washington ave. in Brooklyn New York. Get out of the shadows of the skyscrapers and experience the beauty of the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. With over fourteen exotic and unique gardens and several types of classes offered, including herbalism and cooking classes, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens are gorgeous.
NYC Parks. Including Central Park, Bryant Park and Dumbo Park each offer their own unique experiences. Bryant Park offers outdoor Monday Night Movies for free. Brooklyn’s Smorgasbord takes place Saturday Afternoons on the Williamsburg and Dumbo waterfront. Central park is perfect for picnics on those breezy Summer Days.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Personally the Metropolitan Museum of Art is my absolute favorite NYC Museum. An amazing collection of art in all forms and from all ages, check out the cloisters, a collection of art and artifacts from medieval times.
The rooftops of Manhattan and Long Island. Next time you go out to grab a drink or have a bite to eat do it on top of the restaurant instead of in it. Several Venus offer gorgeous open roof and out door dining options including the Dream Downtowns “The Beach”, “Pop’s” in Island Park, and “Vetro” in Howard Beach.
The Long Island Beaches. There is a lot of beachfront on Long Island but the best beaches are probably Jones beach, Gilgo Beach and Smith’s Point. All have beautiful clean soft sand and great waves for surfing or boogie boarding.
These are only a few suggestions, explore the area! There is so much to do in NYC or on Long Island and the warm weather only presents more options! The parks the beaches the fabulous nightclubs and restaurants truly come alive with the blooming of the flowers don’t miss it this summer!
