Black Friday

Are you one of those adventurous Black Friday shoppers?  Do you venture out the day after Thanksgiving braving the hordes of ravenous shoppers seeking that elusive perfect deal?  The stores can be chaos and the people can be ruthless but one of the worst things to deal with, especially on Long Island, is the traffic.  That holiday traffic combined with the vehicles of over zealous shoppers can be a veritable nightmare.

In an effort to mitigate the looming disaster try using an executive car service for your transportation on this crazy day.  You can plot the route and plan the order of the stores you intend to raid and not have to worry about the other crazy motorists speeding down the road attempting to get the last of the season’s most popular video game.  A car service can be a haven in the pandemonium, a place of sanctuary where you can escape the wrath of manic shoppers.

This Black Friday be careful no matter how you decide to venture out.  People can be crazy on the road as it is, factor in the possibility of saving gobs of money and a potentially irate child should they not get the gift they were expecting, and you get pure madness.  Try using a professional executive car service this year it takes a lot of the stress away and can be a haven amongst the chaos.

The Future of Travel

The Future of Travel

We have come far since the good old days of horse and buggy.  When you think about it the advancements made in the last century alone are astounding.  As late as the end of the 19th century automobiles were a thing of fantasy, forget about airplanes and space travel.  Since the advent of the car in 1886 we have augmented our ability to travel by leaps and bounds.  Only about 80 years later we were launching rockets into space.  For us modern men the true ramifications of these realities may fail to impress, but the fact remains we are advancing at a rapid pace.

For thousands of years our primary mode of travel was horse or carriage and that was only for those that could afford them, most people went by foot.  Boats and buggies came next, then steam power and clockwork, followed much later by rocket propulsion and gas powered motors and mechanics.  What is frightening is that our progression has been exponential, in other words the advancements made in the last century alone equate to, and in fact surpass, the advancements made over the last thousand years.  Experts predict that this trend will continue and we will proceed even faster into the dawn of a new age.  This new age will be serviced by modes of travel that we have not even begun to dream of, things that we would classify today as science fiction.

So then what will be the primary mode of travel used by the man of tomorrow.  Recently scientists have announced a theory that involves rail gun technology; this method would involve a tube like track and a large man-sized (or train car sized) bullet type capsule that will be propelled via rail gun technology at speeds up to and exceeding 500 mph.  This will get travelers from New York to Tokyo in hours.  It sounds scary and dangerous (and I’m sure it is) but in theory it is possible.

There are other even wilder theories and ideas out there; faster then light travel, bending space and creating “worm holes”, and even teleportation.  Incredibly all of these crazy ideas are based on scientific fact.  We currently can project particles that move faster then the speed of light, and in theory we could download the entire contents of your mind into a computer and then clone you at another destination and input your downloaded mind into that clone (that is the theory behind the current idea of teleportation).

As cutting edge as All Star Limousines is we haven’t gotten into teleportation just yet.  We do however offer the latest in real time flight tracking, Omatics GPS, our vehicles are compatible and make use of all the current apple technology, we have only the latest model cars and limousines and you can be sure that any relevant advancements made in the transportation industry will be integrated into All Star Limousine’s service.

Three of the Best Nightclubs in NYC

Three of the Best Nightclubs in NYC

New York City is an amazing place.  Anyone who has ever been to NYC can tell you that there is certainly no shortage of things to do or places to go.  From some of the greatest museums in the world to restaurants the likes of which you will find nowhere else, NYC has it all.   The nightlife is no different.  The club and bar scene in NYC is un-paralleled; it is from this vibrant and energetic sub-culture that NYC has obtained the moniker “The City that Never Sleeps”.  Some of these clubs don’t close until the late morning (like 11am) that’s a long night!  With so much going on and so much to choose from it can be difficult selecting the right venue for you (after all we all have very different tastes), so with your best interest in mind here are three amazing clubs located in New York City.

Pacha NYC is a massive four-story 30,000 square foot nightclub located between the Hudson River and Hells Kitchen.  A decade or so ago there were several of these converted brownstones turned nightclubs that filled the night air with hypnotic bass and the streets with scantily clad party goers.  Due to violations, legal issues and licensing problems many of these fly by nightclubs disappeared.  Pacha NYC is a hold over from that era but was and remains a class above its competitors.  Multiple rooms playing all manner of music from funk to techno blast out the latest in their respective genres as the cutting edge LED fiber optic systems and rotating video monitors present the visual accompaniment to the auditory smorgasbord.

Rose Bar.  The Rose Bar could quite possibly be the most ascetically pleasing venue in all of NYC, and that is a very bold statement.  The Rose Bar and its patrons are beautiful.  Only the most fashion-forward and attractive are admitted to this selective nightclub.  The ambiance within is second to none with elegant velvet sofas and couches and soft lighting are accompanied by expertly and meticulously crafted cocktails that taste as good as they look.

The Bell House on 7th street in Brooklyn is the place to go for live music and the occasional comedy show.  A converted printing press warehouse offers a sprawling yet inviting atmosphere for bands to perform on stage.  The wooden vaulted ceilings help to offer completely unobstructed views of the stage from nearly any point within the venue.  Their two rooms, the Main Event Hall and the Frontier Room, offer very different settings for almost any type of event.  You can also rent out either room for private parties.

Perhaps the most dominant of the social media platforms Facebook is not going anywhere any time soon.  Not as business orientated as Linked In nor as innovative as Twitter, Facebook is the major social player in the game, it does it all and appeals to everyone.  From a business perspective social media is vital for business growth and any company not participating or making use of the social platforms is missing out on tons of potential revenue.  Facebook being one of, if not the, biggest player in the game is the perfect place to start.

Some basic tips for Facebook include paid advertising, embedding call to action and “like us now” buttons in as many places as possible.   This increases the accessibility of your social media pages, which allows you to in turn to access your potential or existing clients on a continuous or regular basis.  When posting on Facebook be creative, use pictures and images as often as possible as the Facebook algorithms like these types of posts and they will hit more people.  Ask questions and attempt to engage people, it’s not always about the “Likes” sometimes you just want to get people interested or start a conversation.   Finally do not be afraid to invest a few dollars into your social media.  Facebook especially offers very tailored and affordable advertising campaigns that will allow you to target and specify a broad range of demographics.  With the right type of campaign you can engage tens of thousands of potential clients weekly.

Ultimately if your company is not optimizing its social media platforms you are missing out.  Going forward we will see a big shift towards social media usage and its in every ones best interest to get in on the proverbial ground floor.  Facebook specifically is a powerhouse, offering a wide range of options for very tailored advertising campaigns.  It is not tremendously difficult to use nor incredibly expensive and it is vital for any growing business.

The Vineyards Never Close

The Vineyards Never Close

Did you know that the vineyards on Long island’s North Fork and in New York’s Hudson River Valley never close?  I had always thought that the doors were shut when the cold weather rolled in but that is not the case, these incredible venues stay open year round.  On the North fork things change a bit, the tours and tastings are mostly inside and during the fall vineyards like Baiting Hollow offer more seasonal activities.  Up north in the Hudson Valley they don’t miss a beat, things continue on as usual as the establishments and the grounds themselves are in part designed around the expected cold weather.

It’s nice to know that even though the warm weathers gone for now we can still engage in some of our favorite activities.  Vineyard tours are always beautiful, fun and educational and now with the state of New York being a real contender in the worldwide wine market these venues are seeing more and more activity.  More traffic and more revenue means a higher quality product stimulated by a more competitive market.   These are good things for Long Island and the Hudson Valley, more revenue for the state and the counties and an enjoyable and quality activity for locals and tourists to engage in.

I never knew the vineyards stayed open year round and if you did not until now then I am happy to inform you that All Star Limousine offers Hudson Valley and North Fork vineyard tours 24/7/365.  New York has much to offer, nightlife, fine dining and of course the greatest city in the world, but do yourself a favor and don’t miss out on the majesty that is Long Island and Hudson Valley wine country.
