The 2013 Lincoln MKT Has Arrived

Lincoln MKT Lincoln Mercury introduces the 2013 MKT Town Car (Its version of David). The MKT Town Car has a large task ahead of it. This vehicle not only has to live up to the standards of the now extinct town car that the industry and public once knew. MKT (David) has to change our minds and erase the Goliath of old from our memory banks.

In 2011 Lincoln Mercury discontinued “old reliable” due to diminishing sales and just a time for a change. I remember driving a passenger in my early days in the industry and he commented about what a great ride he just had, I laughed and told him that the vehicle had 330,000 miles on it. Of course he didn’t believe me until he glanced at the odometer. You could not kill those vehicles if you tried.

Once the consumer’s come to grips with the new look and experience the inside they will find that this vehicle was built with them in mind. The new Lincoln MKT Town Car offers a higher roofline, more sophisticated seating, a spacious trunk plus, even easier passenger entry and exit.

Comfortable and productive work environment for driver and passengers enhanced by technologies including SYNC®, hands-free navigation, standard WiFi capability and a rear view camera system.

The MKT Town Car is available in two body styles – standard livery version with available all-wheel drive, and stretchable heavy-duty limo with standard all-wheel drive. Key technologies and features included in the MKT Town Car models include:

· Puddle lamps on the rear doors

· Map and newspaper pockets in the back of the front seats

· Vanity mirrors in the headliner with integrated task light

· Continuous rear floor mat for both foot wells

· Improved rear seating design

· Remote start

· Rear view camera

· Lincoln SYNC

· Voice activated navigation controls

· Second-row 110-volt electric plug and USB mobile phone charger

· Tri Zone EATC with Auxiliary HVAC unit

Additional Safety Features

Blind Information System: Uses radar sensors to alert the driver of any impending danger

Collision Warning System:  Designed to alert the driver of collision risks. If the risk of collision increases, the system will increase brake support to reduce collision speed.

Rverse Sensing System: Notifies the driver via a warning tone if there is an obstacle behind the vehicle.

The jury is still out with the owners of the major limousine companies. They are still shopping for the right replacement vehicle. Among the choices are Mercedes Benz, BMW, Hyundai, Chrysler, and Toyota. These choices include price point, EPA gas mileage estimates, Warranties, and the cost of repairs.

Recently Jim Powers President of All Star Limousine one of Long Island, New York’s largest Worldwide Companies decided to flip his whole fleet of Executive Town cars to the MKT Town Cars. His company has done there due diligence surveying their customer base and road testing the vehicles on the busy streets of New York.
