Under Pressure 

Who doesn’t love to root for the underdog?  When the chips are stacked against you doesn’t it make things more exciting?  Sometimes a challenge is what is needed to bring out the very best in someone.  Often we never know what we are truly capable of until we are put to the test.   Of course some of us rise to new heights achieving never before thought of levels of success, and then some of us fail miserably, never to try again.  In the service industry you are almost always under pressure, there is very rarely a time when optimum performance is not expected.  In the executive car industry this is especially true and more often then not you are dealing with situations and circumstances that are not always in your control.  So how then when dealing with high expectations on the clients end, circumstances not always able to be accounted for, and the every day stress is a company able to meet the clients expectations every time?

At All Star Limousine we do exactly that.  We are pressure players and when the odds are against us, or things begin to get difficult, that is when our true strengths are showcased.  In this industry it is expected that the vehicles are clean and on time, it is expected that your chauffeurs are punctual and professional, but now imagine that you are sending a hundred vehicles in one day to a single client and everything needs to arrive at exactly the same time, possibly for a corporate event or for a road show, that is a challenge.   Or how about when a bride leaves her bouquet at the church and the driver needs to get back to the church and bring the flowers to the picture location within a certain amount of time or the bride wont have the pictures she’s been dreaming about.  These are things we do every day at All Star Limousine, we anticipate the unexpected and we rise to the occasion.  We specialize in exceeding expectations and giving that little bit extra.

Sometimes you discover your true abilities when the odds are stacked against you.  They say that which des not kill you makes you stronger, and while that may not be exactly true in all scenarios a better statement would be that which does not kill you can make you stronger.  Many times its when things are at their worst that people are at their best.

Westbury Manor

You will often hear me say that Westbury Manor is one of my most favorite catering halls.  Now I don’t say that about all the catering halls, and there are a few very good reasons why I make this claim about Westbury.  Simply put Westbury manor has it all; they have the grounds, the ambiance, the food and their incredible staff.  There are catering halls that have one or two of these things and maybe even three but there aren’t many that can claim all four.

The venue itself is beautiful in a very charming and historic way.   Built in the early 1880’s and originally called The Titus House it was well known for its gorgeous and study construction.  Possessed of a singularly unique old world charm the walls of Westbury Manor echo with the laughter and joy of the families that have called it home and of the couples that have celebrated their union in its halls.

The grounds at Westbury Manor are amazing.   With six meticulously maintained gardens augmented by flowing waterfalls and ponds and trimmed with gorgeous flora there is no catering hall more picturesque then Westbury Manor.  The grounds are expansive and fanatically maintained by the dedicated staff.  You will be hard pressed to find a location that boasts such impressively cultured gardens and grounds.  O and did I mention they have a family of beautiful peacocks roaming freely on the grounds!

The food is amazing, a wide selection of entrées and ous du overs ranging from classic Italian to fresh seafood are brought in daily.  Their incredible fare is served by a staff that is unparalleled in their dedication to excellence and customer service.  These service professionals conduct themselves not only with the utmost professionalism but also with a joy and love of their job and pride in their venue.  This, I believe stems from the management team, who treat their people, clients and affiliates with nothing but kindness and respect.

Ultimately an unbelievable venue, one that provides everything and anything and does it well.  With so many options to choose from Westbury always satisfies and has several things that not many other catering halls on Long Island can match.  The grounds are stunning and flawlessly maintained; the staff is warm, friendly and professional.  Get married at Westbury Manor and you will not be disappointed.

Success

Have you ever met a very successful individual engaged that individual and walked away wondering how on earth said person achieved that level of success?   That might sound rude or judgmental but I am sure we have all experienced a situation similar to the one described above.  I am not here to try and advocate some required formula or combination of character traits that will guarantee success.  Success happens to many people for many different reasons and often times luck and timing have as much to do with achievement as actual skill and ability.   One talent that is almost universally possessed by many of the most successful individuals in the world is the ability to recognize talent in others and to be able to surround them selves with those people or that talent.

Lets face it no one knows it all and no one will ever know all, there is a lot to know and if you think that you know even close to all there is to know let me tell you, you are very wrong.  Something we all need to be is humble, do not presume to be the leading authority on any particular subject because there is always more to learn, it takes a truly confident and secure person to ask questions, especially ones that may paint a picture of inadequacy.  So with the assumption that no one knows everything a very crucial skill lies in identifying individuals who may know more then you about a particular subject, being humble enough to listen and take the advice of these individuals but still maintain the authority and respect that is necessary to any leader or figurehead.  It is a gift possessed by very few and almost universally possessed by the very successful.

Many people also fail to accept the fact that luck, timing and the willingness to take a risk all play as important a role as actual ability.  Now you nose-to-the-grindstone folks may take offense to the statement above but it is true.   Some people just have better timing then others or are just luckier, they happen to be at the right place at the right time.  Some of these people we call lucky do possess a knack for identifying the right situation or trusting their instincts when something doesn’t feel right but it is hard to positively identify which is which (mostly because a gut feeling is exactly that, and one could be considered lucky because he chose to listen to his instincts at that particular moment).

So next time you meet the eccentric millionaire or the un-educated oil tycoon don’t be so quick to judge as there are many roads to success.  Identifying talent, listening to those around you and trusting your instructs when the time feels right are three great examples but are just a few factors that contribute to many of the worlds most successful achievers.
