For some, prom will be the first night alone in a limousine or party bus, with All Star Limousine you can be sure prom night will be executed safely and professionally. By booking earlier on you’ll have a larger selection of the best vehicles, as well as time to make minor adjustments if needed with no problems at all. Make sure all parties understand contract statements as well as deposits, and pricing. Going over these details early on prevents confusion and miscommunication.

A reliable transportation company will have their own set of rules and guidelines that will be reflected in their contracts or within their policies. These procedures are put in place to protect our clients as well as our company and its employees. When booking with All Star Limo, we take the time to understand your rules and wishes, to ensure a safe and fun night.

Top Five Things To Do In New York City

Top Five Things To Do In New York City

New York City is a place like no other.   There certainly exists other cities in the world that come close to the size and scope of NYC, but really there is nothing quite like it.  To a tourist or non-native New Yorker it can be overwhelming, tons of people, lots of noise and something extraordinary or down right crazy going on no matter what direction you turn.   Crazy cab drivers, packed subways and streets teeming with people can cause one not familiar with such population density to want to run back to the hills and valleys.  That is why we have come up with a comprehensive guide for the top 5 things to do when you’re in the big apple.

1)   Art Museums.  Were kind of cheating on this one because this entry includes two venues, The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) and The Modern Museum of Art (MoMA).  The Met is not to be missed.  The Metropolitan Museum of Art is incredible; it has been around since 1866 and offers exhibits of classic and modern art from around the world.   The MoMA is a bit more specialized and new age then its older sister and exhibits primarily expressions of modern art.  Both have a very affordable entry free (they ask only for a donation), both offer classes and educational seminars and both are among the most important attractions for any visitor to NYC.

2)   Central Park encompasses 843 acres of verdant flora right in the center of Manhattan.  Sculptures and castles, hills, parks fountains and all types of beautiful ascetics comprise this meticulously maintained preserve.  Check out Strawberry Fields and the Imagine Mosaic, a tribute to the late John Lennon, or stop in at Sarabeth’s Central Park South for incredible confectionary creations you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else.

3)   The Empire State Building.  350 5th avenue is the home to one of the most impressive man made creations on the planet; The Empire State Building.  Standing over a quarter mile high the Empire State building is arguably the world’s most famous office building.  It was opened to the public in 1931 and has since seen millions of people walk through her doors.  The observatories located on the 86th and 102nd floor of this monument offer unmatched views of NYC and on clear days one car even see as far as Connecticut and New Jersey.  These lofty perches stay open 365 days a year rain or shine.

4)   The West Village is a timeless neighborhood virtually unchanged since the 19th century.  A quaint labyrinth of brownstones and specialty shops punctuated with lively bars and quirky eateries comprise the neighborhood known as the West Village.  The color and culture one can experience in this beautiful and vibrant area is un-matched anywhere in the world.  Check out famous landmarks and world-renowned restaurant or just grab a cup of coffee on a sidewalk café and enjoy the various characters that call the West Village home.

5)   Our final spot is reserved for New York nightlife in general.  NYC is the city that never sleeps and while one may hear that phrase and assume exaggeration, generalization or embellishment this city is truly alive 24/7/365 without exception.  At any hour on any day one can find a lively nightclub or any number of restaurants or eateries serving a plethora of culinary excellence.  The venues are far too numerous and diverse to even begin to list, but it can confidently be said that there is something for everyone.  Perhaps in the near future a top 5 nightclubs or restaurants guide will be put together but for now just close your eyes point and pick.

Best Long Island Wineries Of 2017

Posted On: February 15, 2017

One of the greatest things about long island is its booming wine country; very few things are better on a warm spring day then a trip out to the vineyards. A time honored tradition, most of our 2,753,918 residents have at least tried one of the wines from the multitude of vineyards Long Island has on its east end. Today we are going to take a closer look at 3 of Long Island’s most popular vineyards.

Beginning with Pindar Vineyards, Pindar was manifested from the dream of Dr. Herodotus Damianos in the early 1980’s when vineyards were unheard of on Long Island. It was Dr. Damianos who shaped the wineries out on the east end with Pindar being one of the best-known wine producers out there. One can almost always find a reason to pick up a bottle of winter white, or relax after a long day with a bottle of merlot reserve barrel select, or one of our all-time favorites, their late harvest Riesling dessert wine. My time spent at this vineyard is always time well spent, they have an incredibly knowledgeable sommelier on staff who is always able introduce me to something new with each visit.

Next on the list is Duckwalk, as you enter into a large room with the wine bar dead center you select your wines and make your way to the back deck where you will find live music and an unbelievable view of their vineyard. The go to’s here are the Gatsby red which invokes a time long forgotten when alcohol was outlawed and still in very high demand. Another great selection is the Aphrodite which is a late harvest gewürztraminer, a dessert style wine, that pairs well with cheese, named after the Greek god of love, nothing could be more romantic then sharing a bottle with your better half after finishing a picturesque dinner. Dr. Herodotus Damianos and his son alexander also founded Duckwalk back in 1994. The building has hints of Normandy chateau architecture and is a staple in the Hamptons community.

Next on our tour is Raphael vineyard. Raphaels was born from the vision of proprietor John Petrocelli who named the winery in honor of his father, and continues a centuries old family tradition of wine making. As you walk into one of the most stunning rooms outside of Europe you quickly realize the main room was heavily inspired by Mediterranean architecture. At this location we opted for a wine flight and we were leaning very heavily toward reds, starting with La Fontana, a Bordeaux blend with a full body and a very complex flavor, followed by the estate merlot, a medium body with a balanced acidity, we finished with the cabernet franc, and with a soft hue and rich body this was definitely the favorite of the day. On a personal note, with its old world charm, this is a place I could see myself getting married.

And last on our tour is Vineyard 48, not known for their wine but for the party food and atmosphere. No trip is complete until you stop at Vineyard 48, this is the place to be for the young and the young at heart. Often touted as one big drunken dance party, this is in reality more of a wine bar in a prime location. With free food on a grill and large buckets of wine with fruit in it, not exactly a sangria, but some wine based concoction, you are not likely to leave here with an empty stomach. We love this place for its party life style and low-key atmosphere and it is a good end to a relaxing and beautiful day in Long Islands wine country.

Pindar Vineyards

Pindar vineyards may quite possible be the most popular vineyard on Long Island.  Pindar is named after a famous Greek poet whose musings at times mentioned the vintage that the vineyard has become so famous for; “Let these deep draughts of enchanted wine life me in soarings high and far” –Pindar (522-443 B.C.).  At once a massive company and a family business Pindar is in large part responsible for the creation of the wine industry on Long Island.

Founded over 30 years ago today Pindar is the largest vineyard on Long Island.  Encompassing over 500 gorgeous acres in Long Islands wine country and producing over 17 varieties of grapes Pindar is massive.  Annually they produce about 70,000 cases of wine and boast about 23 different blends.  Despite the commercial numbers Pindar is at its heart a family business that was started over 30 years ago by Dr. Herodotus “Dan” Damianos, his wife and all of his six children are heavily involved in the wine industry on Long Island.

Emphasizing dreams and whimsy in the best possible way Dr. Dan and his family are committed to perfecting the quality and excellence of their vintage.  They invite you come and share in that dream by visiting one of their many locations and partaking of their premium wines.
