Safe Transportation

Driving can be a dangerous thing.  Transportation for many is a stressful, and often times, dangerous undertaking.  In 2013 The National Safety Council reported an estimated 35,200 traffic fatalities in the United States alone.  On average automobiles kill more people then guns, and are statistically one of the most dangerous weapons ever invented by man.   Why is this?  There are many reasons and they include everything from driver error to mechanical failure.  It is near impossible for me to list here all the potential dangers one could face while operating an automobile as I have no where near the space required to create such a lengthy list.

What can we do?  Fortunately there are several steps one can take to ensure safe travels.  Hiring a reliable and reputable executive car service is one such measure.  Now it is very important to make the distinction between a black car service and an executive car service as a black car service can cause more problems then it solves.  An executive car will be owned by a properly insured company and operated by a professional driver.  These individuals drive for a living and have tens if not hundreds of thousands of hours behind the wheel.  It is their job to get you too your destination safely and expeditiously.

In addition it is important to get into the habit of doing several things when you get into an automobile, whether as a passenger or a driver.  Do not attempt to drive when not well rested, it is essential to be alert at all times when on the road.  Make sure the vehicle you are operating has been maintained properly and there are no mechanical issues with the vehicle.  Exercise proper driving etiquette and procedures, wear your seatbelt, signal when changing lanes, check your mirrors and obey the speed limits.  As a passenger make sure to buckle up, try to refrain from making loud noises or distracting the driver.  Do not eat drink or talk on your cell phone while operating a vehicle.  Keep your hands, feet and head inside the vehicle at all times.  Small children should be properly secured in the rear of the vehicle in a car seat.  And above all else never drink and drive or operate under the influence of drugs.

Driving can be a dangerous undertaking if the proper precautions are not taken.   To truly alleviate the stress and danger hire the right professional driver and executive car service.  Finding the right one will take time and research.  Even when you are a passenger in a vehicle be safe and exercise good travel etiquette, when you are a driver exercise extreme caution.  Operating an automobile is a privilege and should be done so smartly and responsibly.

Corporate Growth

Limousine companies and executive car services can range form the very small, with maybe only a handful of vehicles, to the internationally massive with a fleet numbering in the thousands.  What is the path to expansion and successful growth?  Many times we see companies that reach too far and overextend, ending up underfunded and soon out of business.  On the other hand we see companies that simply exist and continue on at the same pace never growing, never expanding, sometimes its because the owners are afraid of taking a chance, sometimes its due to the acceptance of mediocrity or complacence.  Regardless the reason, the goal in business is to build, to thrive, not simply to exist or to meander forward never reaching that next level.  What are the best ways to reach that next level?  How does a limousine company grow to achieve success?

One of the best ways to grow as a limousine company or an executive car service is to attack the corporate market.  The executive car service industry is frequent and continuous it is different then the celebratory limousine industry in that you get that guaranteed repetitive business.  CEO’s and executives always need to travel and that will never change.  The corporate side of the industry is not an easy one, not exactly as demanding as some weddings can be, but it requires not an ounce less professionalism.  Securing regular corporate cliental is key as these companies have a large budget for transportation.  In addition just like in the wedding industry your name will become known in the corporate circles, you will garner a reputation as a company who is able to offer that consistent level of premiere service.   In truth as a limousine service this is the best way to grow.

In the end there are multiple avenues to take in regards to company growth but perhaps the most efficient is to attain that corporate customer, the company that is going to use you every week and hopefully every day.  You will need to have a quality service if you hope to maintain such an account but if the quality is there then the most efficient course of action is the corporate solicitation.  You will become know as a company that is able to provide what these CEO’s and executives need.

The U.S Open

The U.S. Open Begins

August 26th 2013 through September 9th 2013 showcases this years United States Open Tennis Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens, New York City.  The U.S. Open is the fourth and final hard-court tennis tournament comprising the Grand Slam, the other three being Wimbledon, the Australian Open and the French Open.  The U.S. open is the modern incarnation of the world’s oldest tennis championship, the U.S. National Championship first established in 1881.

Originally titled the U.S National Singles Championship for Men the tournament was held in Newport Rhode Island.  It was not until 1915 that the Tennis Championship match was brought too Queens NY.  In 1968 the US Open became what we know today after 5 separate events (women’s singles, women’s doubles, men’s doubles, mixed doubles and the original men’s singles) were combined into one.

Since that time technology and politics have made many changes and the US Open Tennis Championship has evolved into one of the most anticipated and watched sporting events in the world.  Currently sponsored by JP Morgan Chase the U.S. Open is owned and organized by the USTA which is a non-profit agency.  The proceeds from high-ticket prices are used to promote the development of tennis in the United States.

Tennis today is not about one man dominating the better part of a decade.  The days of Federer and McEnroe finishing off consecutive titles are behind us.  On the fast, hard courts of Flushing Meadows one needs to be versatile, aggressive, in top physical condition to be able to handle the deep game and be able to counter many tennis styles and offensive tactics.  The top three players today are Djokovic, Nadal and Murray and all are built to hammer out victories by tracking shots and working the baseline.  Murray seems to be the favorite due to his versatility and offensive mindset, but only time will tell as this years U.S. Open commences.

Always promising to be a memorial event this year’s U.S Open commences on August 26th.  Transportation can be provided by host airline Emirates airlines, the always-reliable LIRR and of course All Star Limousine and All Star Limousine Worldwide.  For tickets and scheduling check out www.usopen.org.

Best Practices: Travel Logistics Of An Executive Road Show

Posted On: October 04, 2012

All Star Limo In Tunnel

We know that Corporate Meeting Planners can plan an Executive Road Show for up to two years, whether it's an industry-wide conference, investment banking summit, book tour, site visit, or sales meetings there are countless items on their checklists to make sure their Executives are taken care of, that the integrity of their organization stays intact, and we also know that it's not easy to plan any aspect of an Executive Road Show. One of biggest challenges is managing the logistics of corporate travel; ground and air travel are two of the most important pieces of the Executive Road Show puzzle; transporting your Executives to twelve cities in two different countries in ten days can be a logistical nightmare.

Whether Road Show attendees are going from Beijing to Chicago, or from Paris to New York to Austin to Dallas to San Francisco these best practices will help you plan and implement the travel needs of every Executive Road Show, ensuring that Executives arrive on-time, are safe and in the right hands.

  1. Determine if all the Executives participating in the Road Show will be visiting the same countries, and cities, map out where each Executive is going, and their arrival times in each country or city.

  2. Contact each Executive individually to find out what their specific air and ground transportation needs are; getting the Executives involved eases their fears of the unknown and it will also enable you to develop the individual itineraries of each Executive.

  3. Select or contact your Corporate Travel Limousine Company and Travel Agent, make sure they have experienced and dedicated Road Show Coordinators, collaborating with companies that have experience with Road Shows will make your life easier.

  4. Once the itineraries are confirmed share them with your Corporate Travel Limousine Company Road Show Coordinator. The Coordinator will be responsible for providing seamless travel for each Executive as they travel to and from each country and city. The Coordinator will manage every need of the ground or air travel before, and during your Road Show. During the Road Show the ground transportation Coordinator will be your closet friend, they will be in constant communication with you and their chauffeurs, they will monitor any changes that might impact your itineraries: track traffic and airport delays, inform chauffeurs of any last minute changes, or fulfill special requests such as choice of newspapers or beverages.

  5. Confirm! Confirm! Confirm! Confirm every detail of your Road Show itineraries for each Executive, especially your ground and air travel reservations, ensure that there are no last minute changes and advise your Coordinators of any special requests.

Following these best practices will guarantee that your Executive Road Show goes off without a hitch, and if you do experience a bump in the road your Road Show Coordinator will provide the support you need!

All Star Limousines is a local New York company with an extensive global reach; we have provided expert coordination of Executive Road Shows for over 30 years. We collaborate with local police, traffic coordinators, airport officials and hospitality managers to make sure that everyone gets where they need to be in a timely and efficient manner.
