Long Island Wedding Limo Service FAQ's

Ask Questions Before You Book Your Wedding Limo

Wedding Limo RentalI can't think of a better place to get married in the tri-state area than on Long Island. The majestic countryside, wineries, and ocean views from The Hampton's can make your wedding day one to remember for a lifetime.

As your special day approaches there are many things that need to be addressed to ensure a stress free wedding day from catering to the photographer and transportation. Since we are not catering experts and don't take very good pictures we will focus on what we do best.  Ground transportation.

We understand that is usually the last item that is crossed off the list when you go through the final once over of your planning book, so we have some tips to ensure you not only select the right Long Island limousine service to meet your needs, but understand how renting a limo or vintage car for a wedding works.

Vehicle Type

This is usually the first place that you will start as you not only want to make a grand entrance to your reception as a newly married couple, but you may even want to have a vintage Packard or Rolls Royce in your pictures. Here are some things to consider and ask your limousine service before signing a contract or making a deposit.

  • How does the hourly billing work? Some companies bill from pick up to drop off and others bill garage to garage depending on where your pick up location and drop off location will be.  Be sure to ask and get how you will be billed in writing.
  • Don't settle for a regular limo if you want something else. A few larger companies like our's have a large fleet of vintage vehicles to choose from like Rolls Royce's and Vintage Packards that make for awesome photos to remember for a lifetime.
  • Don't forget about grandma and grandpa or your guests.  How are your guests getting from the hotel to the ceremony and then to the reception? We have a large fleet of minibuses, limo buses, and motor coaches to accommodate any size group to ensure there are no delays on special guests arriving late.

Contract

Get a written contract for the limousine services that will be provided. If the company you select is not able to or unwilling to email or fax you a contract with ALL of the details including pricing and cancellation policies let this be red flag for you and start looking elsewhere. Most all reputable limousine services will be able to provide this information to you in real-time.

Chauffeur Attire

The last thing you want to have happen on your wedding day is for your chauffeur to arrive at the ceremony in jeans and t-shirt.  Be sure to ask what the attire of your chauffeur will be. Industry standard attire for chauffeurs is a black suite, white shirt, comany tie, and black shoes and socks. You can get a pretty good idea by the quality of the companies website on this one.

Meet and Greet

If you live in the are schedule a meet and greet.  This will allow you to not only see the vehicle you have selected in person, but to see the overall operation and the professionalism within the office environment. If your company wants to meet you at a local Starbucks you may want to keep searching for an alternative option.

Contingency Plan

Mechanical issues happen.  What is the backup plan if this happens during your wedding?  Does the company have another vehicle they can send in the event of a failure?  How many vehicles do they have in their fleet? Will you receieve a refund if this happnens?  There is nothing wrong with selecting a limo service with a small fleet, but what happens if the vehicle breaks down the morning of your wedding day?  This is another reason to do a meet and greet so you can actually see the size of the companies fleet and office.

Take Away

Do your due diligence and don't rely soley on the internet.  Some companies may represent they have vehicles in their fleet they really don't have.  If you have not used a limousine service then most definitely do the meet and greet.  If you are unable to do a meet and greet than ask all of the questions above as well as for a referral or two so you make the right decision and have a great wedding day.

The Limousine Industries Version of David and Goliath

Posted On: June 28, 2012

The 2013 Lincoln MKT Has Arrived

Lincoln MKT Lincoln Mercury introduces the 2013 MKT Town Car (Its version of David). The MKT Town Car has a large task ahead of it. This vehicle not only has to live up to the standards of the now extinct town car that the industry and public once knew. MKT (David) has to change our minds and erase the Goliath of old from our memory banks.

In 2011 Lincoln Mercury discontinued “old reliable” due to diminishing sales and just a time for a change. I remember driving a passenger in my early days in the industry and he commented about what a great ride he just had, I laughed and told him that the vehicle had 330,000 miles on it. Of course he didn’t believe me until he glanced at the odometer. You could not kill those vehicles if you tried.

Once the consumer’s come to grips with the new look and experience the inside they will find that this vehicle was built with them in mind. The new Lincoln MKT Town Car offers a higher roofline, more sophisticated seating, a spacious trunk plus, even easier passenger entry and exit.

Comfortable and productive work environment for driver and passengers enhanced by technologies including SYNC®, hands-free navigation, standard WiFi capability and a rear view camera system.

The MKT Town Car is available in two body styles – standard livery version with available all-wheel drive, and stretchable heavy-duty limo with standard all-wheel drive. Key technologies and features included in the MKT Town Car models include:

· Puddle lamps on the rear doors

· Map and newspaper pockets in the back of the front seats

· Vanity mirrors in the headliner with integrated task light

· Continuous rear floor mat for both foot wells

· Improved rear seating design

· Remote start

· Rear view camera

· Lincoln SYNC

· Voice activated navigation controls

· Second-row 110-volt electric plug and USB mobile phone charger

· Tri Zone EATC with Auxiliary HVAC unit

Additional Safety Features

Blind Information System: Uses radar sensors to alert the driver of any impending danger

Collision Warning System:  Designed to alert the driver of collision risks. If the risk of collision increases, the system will increase brake support to reduce collision speed.

Rverse Sensing System: Notifies the driver via a warning tone if there is an obstacle behind the vehicle.

The jury is still out with the owners of the major limousine companies. They are still shopping for the right replacement vehicle. Among the choices are Mercedes Benz, BMW, Hyundai, Chrysler, and Toyota. These choices include price point, EPA gas mileage estimates, Warranties, and the cost of repairs.

Recently Jim Powers President of All Star Limousine one of Long Island, New York’s largest Worldwide Companies decided to flip his whole fleet of Executive Town cars to the MKT Town Cars. His company has done there due diligence surveying their customer base and road testing the vehicles on the busy streets of New York.

How to Book Executive Airport Transfers in New York City

New York City Airport Transfers

How to Arrange Executive Transportation New York airport transfer

If you are planning a business trip to the Big Apple, using executive transportation from LaGuardia or JFK Airport is an excellent way to ensure a comfortable and reliable arrival. The last thing you want is to be stressed by the traffic, congestion, and getting lost prior to your big presentation. Some of the best ways you can arrange executive transportation will be examined here along with key points to ask your executive transportation provider.

Size and Type of the Vehicle
The size of the vehicle will depend upon the number of passengers in your party and the number of bags that will be transported for your New York airport transfer. The vehicle type should also match your desires, whether it's a town car, stretch limo or SUV. If you are an Executive Admin, you obviously don't want your boss picked up in a pink limousine from a retail only limousine service, so be sure you select a company that specializes in executive and corporate transportation. Note: Sedans and limousines have a standard size trunk and will hold more luggage than a typical sedan.  A 14 passenger Van only holds 10 passengers with luggage.

Safety Record
Not to overstate the obvious, but an excellent track record of the company and driver safety is an excellent point of reference to have. Style, comfort, and reliability are definitely important, but your safety is paramount. Note: Visit the FMCSA or USDOT website for safety records and current scores.

Reliability of Service
Particularly when it comes to New York airport transfers, an on-time pick up guarantee with door to door service from an executive is extremely important. The last thing a busy traveler needs to deal with is unnecessary delays, particularly with current airport security demands and New York City traffic. As you are vetting your companies of choice be sure to check the processes and technology they have in place to ensure a seamless service delivery.

The drivers employed by the service need to be well versed in getting you to and from your destinations in plenty of time, no matter what traffic situations they might encounter. Their driving ability is of primary importance, but they should also be courteous and knowledgeable about the many attractions and excellent restaurants New York City has to offer.

Things to Know at the time of Booking
So you know how many are in your party - when you call to book your reservation for executive transportation from LaGuardia International Airport, you will need to supply your flight arrival information (Airline / Flight # / Arrival Time). You'll also need to know how far you're going, and if you need to make any other stops along the way to your hotel, convention center or other final destination. The more information you can provide at the time of booking the better we can serve you.

Knowing your budget is important, but don't let price be the only deciding factor. The old adage "you get what you pay for" is certainly true. So do some comparison-shopping, but keep in mind the other suggestions about the transportation company's reputation and services as well.

Most importantly, you will need to know where to meet your chauffeur when you arrive at the airport.  Policies and procedures vary from airport to airport so be sure to ask your provider for exact instructions.

Downtown New York
Mid-Town Manhattan is about a 20-30 minute drive form LaGuardia International Airport depending on traffic conditions.  Once in Manhattan you will be at the epicenter of the city with major hotels such as the Mandarin, W Hotel, Ritz Carlton and venues like Madison Square Garden, Times Square and Rockefeller Center within walking distance.

Asking questions about these simple topics should make your next visit to New York City stress free, at least from a ground transportation perspective.  If you have any additional questions please let us know as our client service representative’s are available 24 hrs a day to serve you in any of the 500+ cities we service worldwide.

The Bride wants to know

Posted On: June 12, 2012

There are some questions that come up regularly in planning stages of a wedding.. Everything from bdget, choosing a dress to selecting a venue and date is important to a bride. Don't forget about your transportation for the bride and groom, grandma and grandpa, and even the wedding guests.

Bride - Limousine

Here we attempt to uncover some of the answers to three of those questions.

"Can I have liquor in the party bus?"

• By law a limousine company cannot supply liquor inside of a bus. But the passenger put their own on board the day before the event.

"I want to be seen in an extra elegant chauffeur vehicle. But I don't want to rent a vintage wedding car."

• A nice choice can be to arrive in a black and white limousine pair. The bride arrives first in her white limo with her family. With the groom arriving behind them in his timeless black limousine. This type of pairing offers distinction while not breaking the bank.

"I want to be seen in a vintage wedding car but my budget doesn't allow it."

• An easy solution for this is simply to arrive in a stretch limousine and depart in a vintage wedding car. Everyone is excited and taking pictures as you leave the wedding. Have the vintage wedding car there ready to take you away into the sunset.
