The Best Limousine Company and Executive Car Service In New York and Long Island

What does it take to be the best ground logistics or luxury transportation company?  What goes in to the proper execution of an executive car service or a luxury limousine company?   A very common misconception is that the limousine industry is a simple one after all it’s just a matter of driving right?  How difficult can it be to pick someone up on time, or to help them with their bags and hold a door, especially now a days with GPS, flight tracking and a plethora of technology designed to make transportation and communication simple and efficient?  Well we would like to try and shed a little light on the behind the scenes of an executive car service or limousine company.

First of all we are going to speak specifically about a new york or long island based executive car service or limousine service.  The importance of this distinction is that New York and Long Island has a very high population density, which means traffic.  If you do not live in a heavily populated area you cannot even begin to understand what traffic can be like on Long Island or in NYC.  Traffic is a huge x-factor, it can throw off the timing of dispatched transfers by an unimaginable amount, it takes precision timing and geographic knowledge in combination with the latest technologies to correctly dispatch rides in a city like New York.

Traffic is only the beginning; the other two major influences in the proper execution of a great limousine service are mechanical failure and human error.  Mechanical failure may seem obvious, but to fully understand imagine your car driving all day long seven days a week and being driven by different people in all types of weather conditions and on all types of surfaces.  These vehicles are well used, especially if they are operated by a successful executive car service (that means they are going out often).  The company must have their own mechanic facility and employ its own mechanics; preventative maintenance must be performed weekly if not daily.   Human error also plays a roll and that can start as early as when the reservation is taken, it can be the fault of the client the reservationist or a combination of the two.  To avoid confusion confirmations must be made and respected, calls must be recorded and monitored, or else the law of average dictates that eventually there will be a problem.

This is only the smallest glimpse into the inner machinations of a great New York or Long Island based Executive car service or Limousine Company.   In this industry the margin for error is large and people expect what they pay for.  It takes a lot to ensure perfect service, it takes a lot to accommodate a corporate client flawlessly or exceed the expectations of a nervous bride.  But that is what it takes to be the best limousine service or executive car service in New York or on Long Island, that is what All Star Limousine does every day.

Fall In New York

Fall In New York

New York State offers many things to its inhabitants.  The city is incredible and for a detailed account for all there is to do within NYC check out some of my previous posts here.  The vineyards and beaches out on Long Island are beautiful and can rival some of the greatest of each around the world.  Although the beaches are now closed the vineyards stay open all year round.  This time of year, that lull before the Holiday madness, the mood and feeling is peaceful the foliage is stunning and the weather is temperate and mild.

Autumn in New York and on Long Island is a true sight to behold, if one has never had the pleasure to witness fall foliage in the northeast I highly recommend it.  This year we are fortunate to have great weather, clear skies and perfect temperatures, this makes for a lasting and beautiful fall season filled with vibrant yellows, reds and oranges.  Often forgotten about as the weather begins to turn, this time of year is perfect for a vineyard tour out on the North Fork or up into Hudson Valley.  The New York Vineyards never close and they often offer seasonal entertainment, as the vineyards themselves are not as appealing as they are during peak season.

A good limousine service or concierge service will also be able to help plan out activities for an Autumn day in New York.  Most limousine companies frequent all the most popular spots and will be able to make recommendations, set up touring arrangements and help with any type of reservation process.  Be sure to investigate the possibilities of a true executive car service or luxury transportation company as often they can be much more then just a ride.

In conclusion New York has lots to offer year round.  The vineyards and other seasonal venues are still great places to visit even off peak.  If you are at a loss for what to do, whether you’re a local or a visitor, a good concierge or limousine service is an invaluable tool.   Make sure you remember to enjoy the fall foliage, the changing of the seasons is an incredible thing to witness especially in America’s Northeast.

Improving Eco-Friendly Travel Options

Improving Eco-Friendly Travel Options

(Reducing the Carbon Footprint)

If you don’t recycle, or car pool, or know what the term “carbon footprint” refers too it’s time for you to have a little chat with Google.  Some of you may laugh but the sad reality is that many of us, despite the mass movement, are completely unaware of the devastating effect we, as humans, have on our environment.  Global warming, Carbon emissions, renewable energy all of these are terms we should be familiar with.  You might be thinking, but I do recycle, I do car pool or take public transportation when necessary and that is great, the earth appreciates it, but there is a lot more we can do especially from the perspective of a corporation or business.

First lets talk about travel.  Commuting and traveling in general on Long Island or in New York is, at best, a harrowing experience.  There are very few places in the world that understand a New Yorkers commute, Los Angels, Beijing and really not too many other areas have even close to the population density we have in the greater New York Metropolitan area.  The good news is that because of the extensive mass transit system and a general migration towards being eco-friendly by New Yorkers, we have decreased our over all carbon emissions by about 21% since the year 2000.  The bad news is that there are many states and more importantly many countries that have increased there over all carbon emissions.

The best solution to this problem is renewable energy; things like geo-thermal energy, wind turbines and solar power are a good start. All Star Limousine is currently entertaining the idea of installing a solar array on our Lindenhurst location.  This will not only benefit us but the region as a whole.

Understandably not everyone is in a position to construct or implement such a system. Here are three things that can be done by business owners and individuals that are easy, inexpensive, and will not only help said individual but the environment as well:

1) For business owners consider flexible work arrangements.  Google has a very interesting and non-traditional business model especially when it comes to managing their employees.  At Google many of their people work from home, this saves gas and time and minimizes the impact on the environment by eliminating travel for the employee all together (they also encourage their employees to dress comfortably in sweats and hoodies in an effort to increase productivity).  Now the work from home program is not realistic for many businesses and employers but some things that all business owners can enforce or encourage are the use of mass-transit and car-pools.  This greatly decreases carbon emissions and saves the employee money.

2) Doing business in person is important, especially when it comes to certain elements involved in business or certain situations.  There is nothing like those face to face interactions, sales especially still needs that personal touch (sometimes the only way to ensure that you can provide a promised service or product is with a hand shake).  However there are many interactions that do not require the individuals to physically be present.  With the advent of the communication age we have so many options available, skype, e-mail, video conferencing, and all manner of expeditious mobile communication options.  So next time it is not absolutely imperative that you get that flesh to flesh interaction try one of these new age methods, it will save time, money and of course the environment.

3) Communication is the key to so much these days.  Without proper communication on all levels businesses today just won’t work.  It is no different when it comes to minimizing that pesky carbon footprint.  Proper communication can prevent wasting time and money; it can also prevent unnecessary travel.  Things like GPS will prevent one from making a wrong turn or getting lost effectively minimizing the time spent on the road and pumping those harmful fumes into the air.  Confirmation of appointments and meetings so that when you absolutely have to drive somewhere (and again try to use public transportation and mass- transit that’s what its for) it is not travel time wasted.  Of course there are a multitude of situations where proper communication mitigates those harmful carbon emissions, just be smart and remember to keep the environment and the world we live in at the forefront of your mind as much as is possible.

JFK International Airport

JFK International Airport

John F Kennedy International airport located in the borough of Queens in New York is owned by the city of New York and was leased to the port authority of New York and New Jersey.  In 2011 it was the busiest international air passenger gateway in the United States, in 2011 it handled more international traffic then any other airport in North America.  Today combined with Laguardia (LGA) and Newark (EWK) International airports it is part of the largest airport system in the United States second in the world in terms of passenger traffic and first in the world by total flight operations.

With over 90 airlines operating out of JFK including Jetblue Airways, American Airlines, and Delta Airlines it can become a bit congested.  The traffic in the area and the constant arrival and departure of individuals from all over the world equates to a chaotic and incredibly inundated facility.  With that taken into consideration it is important when traveling to or from such a high traffic airport to contract the proper executive car service.  You will want a company that is using real time flight tracking and whose drivers and dispatch are in constant communication.  This will allow the chauffeur to arrive promptly and to be able to greet you properly either inside at the terminal or curbside (according to your specifications).

The highly trained Chauffeurs at All Star Limousine Worldwide are able to greet you in the terminal with an Ipad displaying your name or the name of your party.  They will send a text message to your mobile device when they arrive at the airport so that you know they are there when you walk off the plan (for a curbside pick up this text includes the plate number of the car so to expedite the pick up).  All of our vehicles are equipped with Omatics GPS and state of the art navigation equipment that facilitates the travel process.

We are in constant communication with all the airlines at JFK international and will know the second something is delayed.  The tracking systems on all our vehicles allow us to instantly re-route drivers so as to optimize our service and assets and minimize any hassle or wait time on the customers end.  Our world class chauffeurs are extensively screened and trained and are intimately familiar with all the major airports in the tri-state area as well as each airline and terminal in all of these international hubs.

All of this allows All Star Limousine Worldwide to remain a leader in the executive car service and limousine industry.  We are on time every time.  We are here to accommodate your every need.  And we are the number one executive car service provider in the world!
