The Cutting Edge

The Cutting Edge

We live in an age where technology is advancing faster and faster.  Very few of us can afford to stay on the technological cutting edge because as soon as we buy the new I phone apple is already talking about the next one.  It is also not simply a matter of having the means to afford the latest and greatest, it also comes down to being “In the know”, you cant go out and procure something if you or your department isn’t even aware that it exists.  Staying on that edge requires many things; knowledge, awareness and capital being chief amongst them.

Be in the know.  Stay on top of the rapid changes taking place in your field.  This is relatively simple; read, socialize, talk to peers and friends and others in similar industries to keep your self up to date on the latest technological advancements.  One of the easiest things to do is use that great thing we all love called the Internet.  Information is literally at your fingertips in the virtual world.  Google it, plug your questions into yahoo, it may take a few moments to sift thru the plethora of information but some basic cross referencing should get you the answers to most questions.

Use you head.  Most of us see something with a big price tag and think “O that must be better then this that costs half the price” while sometimes this may be true other times its just a clever marketing ploy.  Again this goes back to research, do your homework, talk to people make sure that what your looking at will do exactly what you need and make sure that it will do it better then the thing right next to it on the shelf that costs 50% less.

Finally this brings me to the dreaded third requirement for staying on top of technology, money.  Yes unfortunately things cost money and usually the better something is the more it costs (see above because that is not always the case).  Be smart about your spending, most procurement departments look to buy everything they need for the cheapest price possible, please for the love of god do not operate that way.  Understandably it’s hard not too especially when there is so much uncertainty in regards to today’s economy, but find the medium between cheap and lavish, do some research and you have a good shot at staying on the cutting edge.

All Star Limousine Worldwide makes every attempt to stay technologically savvy and make sure that all of our vehicles are equipped with only the latest technologies.  Each of our departments has at least one dedicated individual whose responsibility is to keep an eye out for any advancements related to their particular field (this is especially relevant when it comes to marketing if your still looking at print and magazines to spread the word about your company it may be time to familiarize yourself with out good friend Google).   All Star offers only the latest and best for our clients when it comes to reservations, billing technology, tracking, GPS and dispatching software.  These are only a few of the things that allow us as a company to extend prefect service to our customers.

An Executive Car Service For Executives

An Executive Car Service For Executives

Using an executive car service has countless benefits for the on-the-go business professional.  In business time is money, that’s a fact, any wasted moment equates to dollars lost, especially when you are operating in a high-end, heavily populated and fast-paced area like New York City or its suburbs. To be late for that sales presentation that business meeting or that networking event just won’t fly for most of New York’s professionals.  And in all honestly it shouldn’t, to be late is not acceptable no matter what the excuse, after all every one else was able to make it on time.  This is one area where having a reliable, punctual and professional executive car service becomes invaluable.

To consider traffic conditions, the best route to a new place, or accounting for all the possible problems and unforeseen delays one may encounter in every day travel thru the Greater Metropolitan area is just not possible for most executives.   Any businessperson doing their job is going to have a million and one things on their mind already, for them to consider and calculate ground logistics is just ridiculous.  A proper executive car service alleviates that stress and will get you to your event or meeting on time and in style, safely and with no worry, it may even offer a few last minute moments to prepare for that vital sales presentation or that pivotal marketing event.

Any good New York executive car service is not going to be cheap (if it is its not an executive car service then that’s not a company you want to rely on when it comes to business meetings) and is unfortunately not affordable for everyone.  But with the rising gas prices and the cost of owning a car these days an executive car service can be a great alternative for many.  All Star Limousine attempts to keep their pricing as reasonable as possible so as to make us as accessible as possible.  We specialize in high-end corporate transportation and we think we have come very close to perfecting the art of efficient ground logistics in an area with a high population density.  Let us do the worrying for you; you have enough on your mind already.  We are on time every time and when we pick you up we wont let you down!

The U.S. Open Begins

August 26th 2013 through September 9th 2013 showcases this years United States Open Tennis Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens, New York City.  The U.S. Open is the fourth and final hard-court tennis tournament comprising the Grand Slam, the other three being Wimbledon, the Australian Open and the French Open.  The U.S. open is the modern incarnation of the world’s oldest tennis championship, the U.S. National Championship first established in 1881.

Originally titled the U.S National Singles Championship for Men the tournament was held in Newport Rhode Island.  It was not until 1915 that the Tennis Championship match was brought too Queens NY.  In 1968 the US Open became what we know today after 5 separate events (women’s singles, women’s doubles, men’s doubles, mixed doubles and the original men’s singles) were combined into one.

Since that time technology and politics have made many changes and the US Open Tennis Championship has evolved into one of the most anticipated and watched sporting events in the world.  Currently sponsored by JP Morgan Chase the U.S. Open is owned and organized by the USTA which is a non-profit agency.  The proceeds from high-ticket prices are used to promote the development of tennis in the United States.

Tennis today is not about one man dominating the better part of a decade.  The days of Federer and McEnroe finishing off consecutive titles are behind us.  On the fast, hard courts of Flushing Meadows one needs to be versatile, aggressive, in top physical condition to be able to handle the deep game and be able to counter many tennis styles and offensive tactics.  The top three players today are Djokovic, Nadal and Murray and all are built to hammer out victories by tracking shots and working the baseline.  Murray seems to be the favorite due to his versatility and offensive mindset, but only time will tell as this years U.S. Open commences.

Always promising to be a memorial event this year’s U.S Open commences on August 26th.  Transportation can be provided by host airline Emirates airlines, the always-reliable LIRR and of course All Star Limousine and All Star Limousine Worldwide.  For tickets and scheduling check out www.usopen.org.
